Mala Beads - White Bone
Traditional carved bone Mala, with two counting tassels and guru bead. Rust coloured cotton tassels.
Japamala, Jaap Maala or Mala beads are rooted in Hinduism and Buddhism and are meant to help you focus your mind during meditation. They are a tool for meditation and prayer, but they can also be worn as jewellery or a daily reminder. There is no right or wrong way to wear your beads.
Malas traditionally have 108 beads. The largest bead, in the center, is known as the guru bead. It is said to hold the energy generated during your practice.
